Set between Nigeria and Ghana, The Missing Chord follows Emeka, a talented but struggling Nigerian musician whose repeated disappointments have left him questioning his worth. His journey takes an unexpected turn when he travels to Accra and meets Serwaa, a confident young woman who recognises something in him that he has yet to recognise in himself.

Through music, rejection and an unexpected friendship, Emeka begins to discover that the validation he has been searching for may not be something another person can give him.

At the heart of the film is a simple idea:

She didn't complete him. She revealed him.

Starring Gideon Okeke as Emeka and Vanessa Vanderpuye as Serwaa, The Missing Chord combines drama, romance, humour and music in a story about self-worth, artistic identity and finding the courage to believe in your own voice.

The film features music associated with some of Africa's celebrated artists, alongside original music created for the production.

The Missing Chord also serves as a proof of concept for the planned feature film, There's Love in the Lyrics, an African musical love story being developed by BOS Films UK.

The short film is currently in post-production and is being prepared for submission to international film festivals.
